Paradise Earth Aviary

Nestled in among the horse properties of N. Scottsdale Arizona is the Paradise Earth Property.  Its acreage includes a residence, a store and several aviaries.

In the aviaries you will find an extraordinary variety of high-end birds.  Everything from Buntings to Canaries, Finches, Barbets, Doves, Jays and Hornbills, just to name a few, can be found.   The variety is amazing.

Being allowed to enter and photograph this collection of life brought me into the world of David and Marie Calvin, owners of Paradise Earth.  Their hearts for the wildlife of the rainforest is exemplified in the enclosures, the food and even the assistants who care for the birds.

With over 40 flight pens and a large open aviary equipped with tables and chairs and free flying birds that delight on putting on a show.  Initially upon entering I had to look for birds.  After only a couple of minutes, dozens of brightly covered birds came out and flew all over around us.  Their curiosity led them to perch at an arms length away from us.  Their bright colors stood out against the green of the trees and shrubs.

Another enclosure that is on the Paradise Earth property are the breeding pens.  This area is kept quiet due to delicate nature or temperaments of the birds housed there.  With breeding in process with a couple of pairs of birds we did not get a chance to photograph them.

By linking to their website, www.BirdProduct.com, you can hear David talk about the rainforest and hear his passion for the animals therein.

Paradise Earth participates in bird and aviary shows throughout the west and beyond.  Their website will link you to their world and to additional information.

With his desire to do something, David is a man on a mission and his dreams of helping and doing his part to help offset global warming effects are a driving force in his life.
